Dr. Lance Miller

​Brookfield Zoo Chicago

Lance J. Miller, Ph.D., Vice President of Conservation Science and Animal Welfare Research at Brookfield Zoo, received his graduate training in Experimental Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi.  Previously, he held positions as a Research Manager at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Scientist for the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research. He is currently an advisor to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Research and Technology Committee and Animal Welfare Committee, a steering committee member for the AZA Ambassador Animal Scientific Advisory Group, and Chair of the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums Animal Welfare Committee.
