Effective & Engaging Presentations Melissa Moore, New Mexico Wildlife Center, NM Watch Video (Login required) Full Abstract
Engaging an audience is probably the most critical step in delivering an effective educational presentation. Too often we wrestle with fear of public speaking, do not know how to connect with a particular audience, or feel we are too busy to attend to presentation details. Techniques for creating and delivering effective presentations are discussed, including use of visual aids, storytelling, and body language. We also discuss ways to deal with stage fright and how to change your presentation techniques for different ages and audience sizes. The presenter uses her experience in education, theatre, and music performance to offer tips and tricks of the trade. |
